OLD BUISNESS

FYI      ALL RANGES ARE AT CEASE FIRE DURING THE MONTHLY MEETING!

1.  Nominations and Election for officer took place this month.  The newly elected officers for the coming year:  President:  Bob Lynch, Vice President:  Ron Wagner, Secretary/Treasurer:  Sharon Goding.

2.  October is the month for renewal of your membership.  Please start getting your renewal fees in.  Just mail a membership form along with your check or money order to Tri-State Gun Club, P.O. Boxes 231, Daleville, AL 36322.  If your NRA dues are up you can include $25.00 and I will renew them for you through the club.  Combinations to the gates will be changed the middle October.

3.  We still looking for a new Range Master.  In the meantime, please assist in keeping the range policed while you are there.  Empty trash bins, pick up trash you see around the range.  Grass always needs to be cut.  And PLEASE do not put plastic bottles in the burn rings!  Put paper products only.

4.  Tickets to the Friends of NRA Banquet and Auction on September 24, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. are on sale now.  The banquet will be held at the VFW in Daleville.  Get your tickets now and support your FNRA!

5.  Women on Target will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009.  Sign-in begins at 8:00 a.m.  There will be an orientation/safety briefing between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m.  Ladies can try out rifles, pistols, and shotguns.  You may try one or all.  Chili/hot dogs, chips and coke will be provided.  There will be door prizes given out to include a Smith & Wesson pistol.  There is no cost to participate in this event.   Women on Target is for first time shooters thru advanced shooters.  Please tell all your lady friends to come and participate.

6.  Building committee:  The foundation is being held up due to all the rain we have received.  The slab should be poured in a week or two.

We are still taking donations and Bonds.  Any amount of gift would be appreciated.

7.  The specialty match this month is a Garand Match to be held on September 20, 2009.  Cost for this match is $10.00.

8.  The Ladies Tactical Match will start up again the forth Saturday in October.  Please tell all your lady friends, wives and daughters to come on out and have some fun.  We welcome first time shooters.   Safety is our number one priority.

9.   For members who do not know:  All matches, except the specialty and IPCSA match,  are free for first time shooters.

RANGE REPORT:

FALLING PLATES/STEEL CHALLANE:    Septembers match was cancelled do to lack of participation.

MODIFIEND SPORTING CLAYS:   Match Results 9 Aug 2009

Due to the HEAT we decided to shoot one round of clays using only two positions. Greg Swim was kind enough to keep score and moderate ( or is the term instigate? ) the catcalls. Brent's tactic of using Magnum +P+++ shells worked quite well! We donated $5.00 each to the Building Fund.
