DECEMBER 2009 NEWS LETTER

GENERAL CLUB MEETING

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

**** The number on the web-site as a contact number is incorrect.  This number is posted on the old application on our web-site.  I am in the process of getting the new application posted on the web-site.  In the meantime please do not call that number!  The gentleman who now has that number is getting very upset with Tri-State Gun Club.  I no longer have that number.  My number is listed above.  But if you do not see it, it is 334-300-2374.  Or you can e-mail me at fiestysharon@aol.com.  I do not always check my e-mail everyday.  Sometimes, like the rest of you, I just do not have the time.

Also, the mail is running really slow due to Christmas.  I check the post office box once a week and sometimes twice a week.  I am sorry to those who get upset with me for not immediately responding to their mail or e-mail.  I process the mail when I get it, but if it does not reach the mail box I cannot process it.  Sharon, Tri-State Gun Club Secretary/Treasurer.

The gate combination has been changed.  If you have renewed your membership and do not have the combination, please contact me via e-mail, fiestysharon@aol.com, or call me at, 334-300-2374.  I will provide you the new gate combination.

We had only 29 people present at this months meeting, including 8 new members.  We have 207 members that have signed up this year and 76 Life Members.

Next month will be a steel challenge starting around 10:00 am.  This is a different time then usual.  If no one is there just wait a bit and someone should be along.  This match is $10.00 to shoot.  Come on out and put your luck and skill against the steel!

MODIFIEND SPORTING CLAYS:   November 11, 2009

Redneck sporting clays are shot the second Sunday of the month.   Match begins between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. or as soon as there are enough people to start.

We have a lot of fun out on the Skeet Range with our Modified Sporting Clays Match!  In November we had a two new shooters who did very well.  We will have to watch out for them if they keep coming back.  They may give some of us a good run for our money!

USPSA/IPSA:   November USPSA Multi-Gun Match

It was a tough match, but the weather was great.  We had 14 shooters who certainly got a workout and expended a lot of ammo.  I appreciate the great job of Norm and Lindy for helping with the setup on Friday, and all the work from everyone on Saturday with the cleanup.  I also want to thank AJ and Michael for running the squads and of course everyone else for their support in taping and scoring.  We also had several new shooters to 3 Gun, Lindy, Kent and Ron.  They did very well as you can see, and I look forward to them becoming regulars.

WOMEN’S TACTICAL SHOOTING:  Unfortunately, due to the lack of participation, the Ladies Tactical Match has been cancelled.

IDPA MATCH RESULTS:

Although the weather was a little cool and misty, we still had a great time shooting today.  Fifteen shooters came out to brave the elements and share in the fun.  John and Grady, as always, came up with some interesting stages, including one that alternated strong hand to weak hand on every target.  I guess we all need to work on that some more.  Thanks to everyone who helped John and Grady set up this morning and everybody who stayed to help tear down.   Thanks especially to Norman, the "Firestarter".
