CLUB BUISNESS

ALL RANGES ARE AT CEASE FIRE DURING THE MONTHLY MEETING!

NEW RANGE RULES WILL BE POSTED ON EACH RANGE AND ON OUR WEB SITE.  PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE NEW RULES!

1.  We have a total of 322 members in our Club to date.  Out of those 322 members, 23 members volunteered to come out in the cold and wet weather on January 30, 2010, to complete the work on the multi-purpose range, so the rest of the club members can enjoy that range at their leisure.  We also repaired some fence lines that were over grown with vegetation, repaired and installed 220 electrical box on the pistol side.  I am sure there was much more going on that I am not aware of.  I want to thank all of the volunteers that gave up their Saturday morning to work on the range.  Thank you Cliff for coming out during the week before the work day to fill over 100 sand bags.  I know it is a painful and tiresome job!  It was very much appreciated!  It was a huge time saver for us and made our work much easier and faster.

If you see Greg Swim, Jim Swift to Dennis Keplinger on the range, thank them for finishing the electrical, plumbing, kitchen and bathrooms.  They have worked weeks on completing the work done in the Training Facility.  Thank you very much gentlemen for all your hard work and dedication!

2.  The Training Facility is about complete.  The indoor bathrooms are done and the kitchen is usable.  We are looking for items to complete the kitchen.  Items such as pots, pans, silverware, blenders, crockpots, and gills are needed.  Anything you may have stowed away in your cupboards or storage rooms and do not need anymore, will be appreciated.

3.  The Range Maintenance Committee is looking for volunteers to adopt a range.  These duties include:

Volunteers for the RMC will adopt one range/area to maintain by the following:

A.      maintain cleanliness

B.      Empty trash cans to central area

C.      Replace target backs/sticks

D.      Police any empty brass

E.      Cut grass on range only

F.      Improve range as desired

G.     Club will put sign on range to denote maintainer?

H.      Check range at least twice monthly with a one year contract

Satisfactory inspections will result in the reward of Tri-State Gun Club “chits” that can be used for Club dues, match fees or the pro shop on a quarterly basis in the amount of 25 Club dollars.  Unsatisfactory inspections will result in no chits issued or at a reduced amount at the discretion of the VP or the BoD

 RANGE/AREAS

A.     25 yd Gen Purpose range

B.     50 ye Gen Purpose range

C.     Rifle range  (2 ea)

D.     Shotgun range  (trap)

G.     Pistol bay two and three   (small bays)

H.     Pistol bay four   (big bay)

I.      Pistol bay five and six    (hogan alley and car)

J.      Pistol bay seven   (shoot house)

K.     Pistol bay eight and nine   (plate range and Jungle run)

L.     Pistol range latrines

M.    Pistol complex range office and picnic area

N.     Large area grass cutting   (2 ea)

O.     Approx cost in lost club dues     14 @ $75 = $1050

P.      Drop Range Master position and change bylaws as required.

Please contact Ron Wagner at 334-475-4096 if you would like to volunteer to take care of a small part of our range.  Information is also posted on our web site.

ATTACHED ARE THE DOCUMENTS PERTAINING TO ADOPT A RANGE.

4.  The shooting benches have been spread out over the rifle range and multi purpose range. New Benches are in the process of being built.  It takes time to complete these benches, so please be patient.  If you need to move a bench or other equipment you are welcome to do so.  But please put them back where you found them.

5.  We are having a major safety issue on the Multi Purpose Range.  The 25 yard, 50 yard and Police Qualifying Ranges are considered ALL ONE RANGE!  When you are shooting at the 25 and 50 yard range, you must be aware of anyone on the other parts of the range.  These ranges are either all cold or all hot.  If you are on the 25 yard range and someone is on the 50 yard range, you must wait until the 50 yard range is cold to go down range to change targets!  Make sure if someone is on the other range you coordinate with them when you are going hot or cold.  If a member is shooting on the Police Qualifying Range the 25 and 50 yard ranges are closed!  BE AWARE OF WHAT IS GOING ON RIGHT NEXT TO YOU.  YOUR SAFETY IS AT RISK OR YOU MAY BE PUTTING THEY SAFETY OF OTHERS AT RISK!

6.  The issue of the Training Facility being a non smoking/non tobacco (chewing) facility was brought up.  There will be a vote on it at the March meeting.

7.  The tree barrier on the back side of the pistol range was brought up.  This will be discussed at the next meeting.

8.  Bond reimbursements will be available upon request.  Notify Sharon Stoneking at 334-300-2374.  Most of our contributors have elected to wait until the next fiscal year to be reimbursed.

MODIFIEND SPORTING CLAYS:   Match is the second Sunday of every month.  Match fees are $10.00

February 14, 2010

Due mainly to the difficulties getting to the range we only had 4 shooters show up for the match, so we shot for fun.

USPSA/IPSA:   Match is the Second Saturday of every month.  Match fees are $15.00.

January’s match was cancelled due to the inclement weather.

SPECIALTY MATCH:  The 3rd Sunday of every month.  The match fee is $10.00.  The specialty match brings in the most money for the Club.  One hundred percent of the profits from this match go to the Club.

It was a great match, a lot of fun.  Richard had a definite advantage with his 10 GA hand loads... He threw so much shot out there that it darkened the sky.

IDPA MATCH RESULTS:  This match is the 4th Sunday of the month.  Match costs $10.00 to shoot.

We ran the IDPA Classifier today, which were the first 3 stages and then two multi-gun stages.  Although the weather was tenuous, we had 15 shooters and the rain held off until the match was over and the stages broken down.  Hope everyone comes out for next month's match, which will be on February 28th @ 10 am.  Come early, if possible, to see if you can pitch in and lend a hand with setting up.
