CLUB BUISNESS

1.  Once again it is election time and four of our local politicians spoke at the May meeting to give their support to our club and to ask for our support to their cause. Here are the four special guests:

Coffee County Sheriff Dave Sutton is running for re-election, Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson is running for re-election, Steve McKinnon is running for District 2 Commissioner, and George Flowers is running for District 29 State Senate.

PLEASE EVERYONE GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!!!!!

2.  We need s new members to step up and help with the everyday running of the club. There are a special few who are always there to do whatever needs to be done.  Now it is time for them to turn the job over to the newer members.

The Range Maintenance Committee

Please contact Ron Wagner at 334-475-4096 if you would like to volunteer to take care of a small portion of our range.

3.  There is one RV hookup at the range, complete with water, electric, and sewer.

4.  The safety berm between the 25 and 50 yard range on the multi-purpose range is complete. Thanks goes to CC Martin for giving us a very reasonable costs.

5.  This is becoming a problem here.  IF YOU ARE SHOOTING STEEL, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PAINT!  And spray the steel after you are done shooting!  It is not the clubs responsibility to continually spray the steel for each members use.  Be courteous and spray the steel for the next person.

6.    The Friends on the NRA is having their annual banquet September 25, 2010.  If you want a sponsorship or tickets to the banquet you can get them from Jim Edgington.

7.  Grass cutting season is upon us.  We need everyone available to help keep the grass cut on the range.  We have a tractor with a finish mower, a riding lawn mower and a push mower.  They are available at any given time on any day.  Let Greg Swim or one of the Board of Directors know you want to mow and someone will show you how to run the equipment.  You can do as much as you want, at your own pace.

8.  The next work day will be May 29, 2010.  Starting time is usually 9:00 am.You are entitled to a $5.00 chit for every two hours you work.  You may use these chits towards membership fees, t-shirts, clays, match fees.  We have a lot of work to do so please come on out and help!!!

SPECIALTY MATCH:  The 3rd Sunday of every month.  The match fee is $10.00.  One hundred percent of the profits from this match go to the Club.

It was a beautiful day for shooting and 12 shooters showed up to test their skills at Rimfire Rifle Benchrest. Four shooters shot both Divisions and we made $145.00 for the Club Range Fund. Thanks to Ron Wagner for being the Match Director. Next month's Specialty Match will be a Glock-Style pistol match and Norman Stellner will be the Match Director. There will be two divisions, Open and Stock. There will be three stages and you do not have to have a Glock to participate. Any semi-automatic that will hold at least 10 rounds can be used. Points will be combined for both divisions for the final Specialty Match point standing.

IDPA MATCH –April 25, 2010
Well contrary to the weather reports yesterday, today turned out to be a great day for shooting. We had a low turnout, only 9, who didn't believe the Weather Channel and wanted to shoot. Since last weekend was the state IDPA match in Montgomery, we decided to go with several quick and fun stages. We had 7 stages, but they moved along quickly, and some proved more difficult than they looked. One was a two-gun match with pistol and shotgun, which was just fun. We raised $60 for the range fund. Next months match will be run by Grady and John, and as always promises to be interesting.. See you at next months match.
