5.  Jim Riley will be holding classes for Hunter Education in Training Facility.  The first class was held March 6, 2010.  They had a good turn out of about 20 people.  More classes are scheduled throughout the year.

6.  The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department will be holding training programs for women in the Training Facility.  As more information is provided I will post it.

7.  Tri-State Gun Club will be hosting a Black Powder Encampment in late March or early April.  Greg is heading up this encampment.  This will be a three day event in the camping area.  The multi-purpose range will be used.  Also an archery 3-D course may be set up on the undeveloped pistol side.  A fee of $25.00 per camp will be charged to cover everything.  This first encampment will demonstrate different types of events to encourage more folks.  Their will be time to shoot some and try different stuff like tomahawk and knife, stick bow, and fire making.  Camp will be open to sight seers.  More details will be provided at a later date.  Please keep an eye out on our web site.  If you have any questions see Greg Swim.  He is usually at the range most days.

8.  IF YOU ARE SHOOTING STEEL, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PAINT!  The club does not provide paint for private shooting, just matches.

9.  We were awarded a $2,100.00 Grant by the Friends of NRA for more table and chairs for the club house.  Remember to support our local FNRA by buying raffle tickets.  The banquet is scheduled for September 23, 2010.

10.  The entrance to CR 437 is still closed however you can bypass that portion of the road that's impassable.  Our neighbor has graciously allowed us to use his property along the power line access just before where CR 437 intersects the main blacktop (CR 24).  You can get back on the range road just past the big mud hole.  We cannot fix the road ourselves.  The County would then say we can maintain it ourselves and they would not touch it.  Dale County, like all other counties are just out of money.  It will be awhile before our road can be fixed.  Thanks to our neighbor we still have access to our range!

Specialty Match,   2-21-2010,

Results from Cowboy Rifle Match

Seven souls came out to shoot the match with their cowboy rifles.  Those metal targets sure were small with open sights.  Greg always talks about being so slow but he sure is accurate, as shown by the 37 score and a great 44 score with a re-shoot .22 caliber Golden Boy.  The next month's Specialty Match will be Law Enforcement and the Match Director will be Ray Dillon.  Thanks to Bob Lynch for running the Cowboy Rifle match.  We look forward to everyone coming out for next month's match.

IDPA MATCH RESULTS:  This match is the 4th Sunday of the month.  Match costs $10.00 to shoot.

Even though the day started out chilly, the sun came out and it was a great day to shoot.  We had 16 shooters who braved the cold but were looking for some shooting fun.  John Johnson and Grady Wiggins were the Match Directors today and they challenged everyone with 6 stages.   We always look forward to John and Grady's matches because they are never boring.  Thanks to Grady and John for designing, setting up, and running the match and to anyone who helped to set up or tear down. Hope to see you all at next month's IDPA match.
