This is a followup on what I said at the club meeting. Bay 3 will have one of the Steel Challenge stages set up for club member practice. The current setup is the "Turnabout" stage. Most stages consist of five steel plates at distances of 10 to 35 yards which are shot for time. One plate is designated as the "Stop" plate with the plate support painted red. Plates can be shot in any order except the Stop plat which must be shot last. There is a 3 second penalty for any misses. The string of five is shot five times and the slowest time is thrown out. All strings are shot from the holster with the hands above the sholders at start except .22 LR which is shot from the Low Ready position (muzzle at 45 degree down and elbows against sides). Any .22 LR and any handgun above 9mm except magnums. Read the complete rules in this forum for more info.
By Saturday there will be a timer on Bay 3 for everyones use. It will be on a steel stand and is set up for a 5 sec delay so all you will need to do is push the "GO" button to activate it for each string. Please replace the plastic bag over the timer when you're finished and put under the shelter. Also, if you move the plates on the stage, please replace them to their original position when through.
REMEMBER SAFETY WHEN SHOOTING STEEL. NO CLOSER THAN 10 YARDS AND EVERYONE MUST WEAR EYE AND HEARING PROTECTION.
